We are inviting applications for the position of: Sponsorship Sales Specialist – 13 month Contract
Reporting to the Manager of Marketing and Sponsorship, the Sponsorship Sales Specialist contractor will be responsible to sell local sponsorship for National and International events planned by Skate Canada with primary focus on the 2013 World Figure Skating Championships taking place in London, Ontario.
Essential Duties of the Position
- Execute all aspects of the sponsorship process from producing the sponsorship packages, researching the potential sponsors, cold calling, contract negotiation and activating.
- With the help of the Marketing and Sponsorship Department, produce a sales package with different sponsorship categories.
- Research sponsorship opportunities for each event, develop a list of viable partners and make initial contact with key stakeholders.
- Draft contacts and oversee the sponsorship deliverables; determining timelines and liaising with other departments and national sponsors to ensure their accurate and timely execution and delivery.
- Ability and flexibility to work under extremely tight timelines.
- Assist and support other team members with sponsorship activities.
- Assist Marketing and Sponsorship Manager with other duties as required.
- Perform the duties stated as a responsible employee of the Association observing and supporting all policies and procedures as set by the Board of Directors and observing all policies and requirements as outlined in the Skate Canada National Office Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
- Represent the vision, mission and values of Skate Canada, and conducts oneself according to ethical standards generally accepted in business.
Qualifications
- University degree in Marketing or Sponsorship or equivalent combination of education and business experience.
- 2 to 5 years related work experience.
- Proven ability to manage third party relationships.
- Technical knowledge of skating not essential but considered an asset.
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset.

Additional Job Requirements
- Occasional travel within Canada to Skate Canada events.
