Skating Anthem Now Available for Download Online!
(December 14, 2009 - OTTAWA, ON) – Skate Canada is pleased to announce the song release of I Will Achieve, written and performed by Skate Canada Director Coaching and Skating Programs Jeff Partrick. The song was inspired by Partrick’s skating background as a national and international competitive figure skater as well as his role in figure skating administration.
“Skating and music have been a large part of my life for as long as I can remember, and while I have had the opportunity to combine these passions before, writing this anthem purely from a skater’s perspective was an exciting first for me. I am thrilled that this song has inspired such a positive response,” said Partrick.
Three versions of I Will Achieve are available now on www.cdbaby.com/cd/JeffPartrick. A rock, acoustic, and instrumental rock version will all be sold for $0.99 or you can purchase all three for $2.97. Skate Canada Skating Programs Senior Manager, Donna King provides backup vocals on the rock and acoustic versions.
Partrick and King first introduced I Will Achieve at the 2009 Skate Canada Annual Convention and General Meeting and after hearing it Skate Canada quickly adopted is as an anthem for all Skate Canada members.
The song mirrors a skater’s journey through many solitary hours of training and honing their craft to the exhilarating experience of achieving one’s goal and the skater’s recognition of the volunteer’s role in supporting their pursuit of excellence.
Partrick is planning on donating a percentage of the sales to the Skate Canada Athlete Fund.
