Skaters up for the challenge! The 2010 Skate Canada Western Challenge and 2010 Skate Canada Eastern Challenge heads to the Hershey Centre in Mississauga

(November 27, 2009 - OTTAWA, ON) – The 2010 Skate Canada Western Challenge and 2010 Skate Canada Eastern Challenge are set to get underway in Mississauga, Ontario at the Hershey Centre from December 2-6, 2009. Approximately 500 skaters from across the country will compete at this flagship event.

This is the third year in a row Mississauga has hosted the event and the fifth time overall. All skaters participating have qualified through their respective sectional championships. This is the last opportunity for skaters to qualify for 2010 BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships in London, Ontario from January 14-17, 2010 and the 2010 BMO Skate Canada Junior Nationals, also in London from January 11-14, 2010.

Skate Canada is pleased to offer all Skate Canada Members free admission to the Saturday competitions at the 2010 BMO Skate Canada Eastern and Western Challenges. To take part in this special promotion, Skate Canada Members must present their Skate Canada membership card at the door.

Tickets are available through www.ticketmaster.ca, by phone 416.870.8000 or in person at the Hershey Centre box office. All-event tickets cost $30; Wednesday and Thursday tickets cost $5; Friday, Saturday and Sunday tickets cost $10.  Prices are subject to applicable surcharges. Children 12 and under are free. All tickets are general admission.
