Olympic medalist Jeff Buttle named Athlete Ambassador for the 2010 BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships
(January 6, 2010 - OTTAWA, ON) – Skate Canada is pleased to announce that Jeff Buttle will serve as the Athlete Ambassador for the 2010 BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships. Buttle is a three-time Canadian Champion, the 2008 world champion and the Olympic bronze medalist at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy.
Buttle will take part in many areas of in-venue activities, including appearing on skatebuzz.com, skatebug with in-house commentary, and autograph sessions.
“Since Jeff’s retirement he has continued to say involved with the sport and we could not be happier that he will be at this event to show support for our skaters,” said William Thompson, Skate Canada CEO. “As the last Canadian figure skater to win a medal at the Olympics, Jeff will be able to share his journey with the athletes and fans, so close before Vancouver.”

A new block of seats has just been released in the lower bowl for single event session ticket sales. These seats are judges’ stand side and may be partially obstructed.
